Over the past 25 years, Arun Kumar has carved a niche for himself in the world of percussion as one of the finest drummers who perform inter-disciplinary music. Adapting his style of playing drums for Karnatic Classical, Hindustani Classical, Film orchestrations, Jugalbandi, Jazz music, and Dance art forms with ease, he has been inspiring many percussionists worldwide.
He has worked in the recording industry with legendary music directors and artists, adding a unique dimension to his compositions. Besides being a highly accomplished drummer, he is a dynamic morsing artist with remarkable abilities that have fetched him an ‘A’ grade from All India Radio. He also guides many aspiring drummers and percussionists at “Babu School of Rhythms”, the school dedicated to drums, started by his father and Guru Sri. Babu Sukumar. He is married to Smt. Pallavi Arun, an accomplished singer.
